THE LIFE OF A CHAUFFEUR - What’s the difference between a driver and a chauffeur?

There are many people who are not exactly sure what the difference is between a driver and a chauffeur. A lot of people say that both words can be used interchangeably, but they actually mean two different things. This blog post will discuss what some of the differences between those two terms are, so you know what to say when someone asks you what your profession is!

A driver is someone who drives a car or truck. Drivers are usually paid by the hour and they often work for companies that provide taxicabs, buses, limousines or trucks. A chauffeur is what most people would call a full-time driving professional who works directly with their employer's needs in mind to get them from one place to another.

As you can see, there is a pretty big difference between what two words mean and what their primary job description entails!

So, who’s best a chauffeur and a taxi driver? Why pick one over the other?

Hiring a chauffeur means a little more luxury for your journey. Usually Chauffeurs have grander cars to travel you in style.  They are professional drivers who will be able to take you any place that you need. Chauffeurs can also offer some amenities like snacks, drinks or even a TV for your trip so it's a little more comfortable than what one might get in the back seat of a taxi cabs. Let's not forget the extra attention from a chauffeur for VIP's,  they will be there to open the door and make sure you are comfortable.

If what you're looking for is a professional driver, then that's what a taxi driver offers too but without the extra luxuries like snacks or drinks if needed on your trip. Taxi drivers also can't offer as much attention since they have many more customers than chauffeurs do in one day so it might not seem like their top priority to make sure you are taken care of during your time with them.
